Position Overview

YCP is seeking Case Team Assistants on a contractor basis to support strategy consulting engagements across Asia. In this role, you will contribute to the analytical core of active client projects — conducting research, building financial models, and preparing client-ready deliverables under the direction of YCP engagement managers.

This arrangement is ideal for junior or experienced professionals, independent consultants, or specialists seeking high-quality project exposure with scheduling flexibility. Engagements are scoped per project, with clear deliverables and defined timelines agreed upfront.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop data-driven insights to support client decision-making, including market sizing, competitive benchmarking, and analysis of industry dynamics across Asian markets
  • Build and maintain financial models, valuation analyses, and scenario planning frameworks
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify patterns, trends, and strategic implications
  • Prepare client-ready deliverables including presentations, reports, and data visualizations
  • Support due diligence workstreams for PE/M&A transactions (CDD / BDD)
  • Collaborate with the engagement team on hypothesis development and structured problem-solving
  • Participate in client workshops and stakeholder interviews where applicable


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a top-tier university (any discipline)
  • English at business level or above (written and spoken)
  • Native-level proficiency in an Asian language (Japanese, Mandarin, Thai, Bahasa Indonesia, Malay, etc.)
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills; proficiency with Excel and data analysis tools
  • Intellectual curiosity and a structured, hypothesis-driven approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to work independently under tight deadlines with high attention to detail
  • Availability to commit to project-defined timelines and deliverable schedules


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in strategy/management consulting, investment banking, PE/VC, audit, or law
  • Background at a Big 4, strategy firm, or boutique advisory
  • Additional Asian language skills
  • Knowledge of financial statement analysis and valuation methodologies
  • Programming and data analytics skills (Python, SQL, Tableau, etc.)
  • Track record of delivering independently as a freelancer or independent consultant
